I bought an 18" set so the wall mounted side would span 2 - 16" on center studs. I was hanging a very heavy mirror with a solid oak frame from the 1950's. Super heavy. I was able to put 2 screws in to each stud for the top bracket. I could have easily hung on just the 1 bracket set, but the bottom was flopping in the breeze. The bottom bracket set make it feel solid, like it grew out of the wall. Very good quality.good product, easy to use, fast shippingThese also have the name "French" system and it is the best in making super strong hanging anything, i.e. pictures, cabinets, just about anything you would want to mount onto the wall within reason. The larger and more heavier items you would want to use hardware accordingly. I've used it to mount the smaller bathroom cabinets and a few pictures. Have not had one problem. Just read the instructions and you will fine it easier. Just have a small 'leveler with bubble' to make sure you have the brackets level when mounting.After searching for heavy duty hangers at the big box and hardware stores, I found these beauties on-line. I hung a heavy 36" x 76" framed dressing mirror on a wall that only had 2 studs available. On one side of the mirror I was able to screw one edge of the cleat directly into the stud and the other edge I used an anchor. Same for the other side. Seems like the mirror is part of the wall now - not going anywhere.Wow what a surprise on how sturdy these hangars are. Great buy!I use this item to hold up a headboard I made out of plywood and foam. It is very heavy king size. So I used 2 of these brackets on it. It does not move. Perfect!Only con I have is so tight against the wall it is. There is no wiggle room which could be good but it makes it hard to install any items off the wall a tad. But I've managed to make it work.Make sure to find the studs if you are hanging anything heavy but I will def use these again.Installed several mirrors with these and they worked excellent
